dear God.. thank you thank you thank you thank you for the most beautiful morning EVER!!! i so badly needed this type of morning.. thank you so much!

i am still sitting out here on my patio almost three hours later.. it has been raining for 2hours.. 2hoursss! it's gotten a bit humid but it's still MUCH cooler than it has been in the mornings.. i said earlier i would indulge this morning as much as i could and i am.. i have things to do today and i was wanting to be ready and get out around 8am. lol but who knew this morning would be so beautiful. so i have postponed it for now.. i just can't believe how awesome this morning is!

i have been researching baby stuff all morning.. whew.. this stuff is hard.. right now david and i are trying to figure out what kind of car seat we want.. first we decided screw an infant car seat we will just get a convertible car seat.. it can be used from infant to toddler.. saves you money in the long run since you can completely skip the infant car seat..

the kind we want.. a german brand called recaro, is something we plan on getting eventually..

but after some research we realized we have no idea how big our baby will be once born.. and not all convertible seats.. even though they say infant 5lbs and up.. will fit our baby correctly/safely until the baby gets bigger a bit.. so.. blah.. i really wanted to avoid getting two car seats within a year but oh well.. the safety of the baby is more important than money..

we originally loved the peg perego viaggio. it's a beautiful car seat..

the reviews are okay.. which was surprising considering how expensive the car seat is.. but most of the reviews complained on how heavy the sucker was.. they weren't kidding.. we noticed it too when we went to browse at the seats at babies r us a month ago.. the reviewers also complained that the side impact foam wings were apparently cumbersome once the baby was older.. i used to love it.. now i don't after reading some of the reviews.

then everyone and their dog, was telling us get the graco snugride..

what is nice about the snugride is that it's cheaper than any other seat we have liked.. and it fits our bugaboo stroller even though i do NOT plan on using a car seat to push my baby around.. i love the bassinet way more.. they have a good safety record.. people have complained about how hot it was for a baby though.. it's hotter than hell here as it is.. but i expect that most car seats are hot.. the things are made out of plastic after all.. and the time the baby would mostly be using it is from winter till summer.. so i don't think i will have to worry too much about how hot it will be.. most of the reviews complained how the sunshade isn't very big and cumbersome to deal with.. and quite a few have complained that babies are getting rashes from the fire retardants on the seat.. i don't know.. i just don't like it as much as everyone else i guess.. my gut instinct says "NO".

currently, i am looking at the chicco keyfit30.. i really like this car seat so far..

they don't really have a lot of fabric choices to chose from.. but it doesn't matter.. i really think this might be the infant car seat we end up getting... the reviews are pretty good.. safety is one of the best.. and the hood is generous.. plus the car seat goes to 30pounds.. which is much more than most infant car seats..

who knew picking out a car seat was so much work? i feel exhausted just researching them on the internet.. figuring out baby gear is a tough chore anyway! thankfully we have a lot of it already picked out.. we just need to start getting money together and start collecting the needed baby gear already.. a baby is viable at 24weeks.. you know what that means? it means if the baby were to be born that early, it has a 40% chance of surviving and the rate only gets higher the further along you are... i would like to be prepared JUST in case any thing like that (God forbid) happens to us. even though the baby wouldn't be coming home with us for months if that were to happen.. either way.. i would feel so much better if i had the stuff then and didn't need to worry about it PLUS the survival of a preemie..

i think i might head over to babies r us today and check out the seat among others.. i have seen it in person before.. but we never really went in just to check out the car seats.. david is much stronger than me.. how heavy the car seat probably won't effect him much.. but for me, a weakling, will need to make sure it isn't too heavy.. blah..

get ready to see a lot of baby gear posts lol.. now that we have the big ultrasound set, david has been really set on getting things together..
